Polygon Modeling
Here is a little sailboat I made from a cube. I had some issues with trying to combine different planes into a single surface (i.e. the two sails should be one complete piece instead of two)

Describing light
Stage lighting, 3 sources, all hard light. One neutral color coming from high stage right, another in that generally same direction but with a different color, the other is a warm amber from high side or back stage left.
The sun is the strong source coming from behind her, however there is enough indirect light bouncing from the snow (and possibly from an additional source from the camera) that we can clearly see her face.
The light is coming from either a warm desk lamp or possibly a window at the same level.

Bedroom Textures
For this assignment, I was inspired by a bedroom scene from the slasher film "Nightmare on Elm Street". I got rid of a few items and put in a few more, then just played around with various light settings and camera angles.

Introduction (round 2)
Hello, my name is Jesse Baldridge.
I was born in Santa Monica, but raised in Utah, and as you can see, I love to travel. I was involved in the performing arts for many years until I decided to switch and go into theatrical designing, which has led me to the path of the Lighting Designer. I have done lots of work in lighting and make-up design in and out of my undergrad program at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. And I'm now studying lighting design here, at Calarts. What I'd like to get out of this course (Foundations of 3D Animation with Cinema 4D, especially after having already completed the course last year)? Although I did learn a lot from the course, I am not as proficient as I would like to be with the program. So I decided to retake the course and try to take each assignment to the next level for me.

Links to some pictures of interesting art and photography involving light.
This is a single natural source of light that is creating two moods simultaneously. There are two different colors, two levels of sharpness for the beams of light, and even two separate environments such as the clouds & sky vs the silhouettes of the plants and telephone poles.
This image is made of light shining through a multicolored material (stain glass window) that is being reflected off of the floor. The light source itself is most likely a hard & bright source in order to see the frame of the windows reflected on the floor, but the glass and surface of the floor diffuses the light a little to create soft pools of color that blend together are not as distinguishable.
This image is an example of the popular growing trend known as 'Light Doodling' or 'Light Graffiti'. A single bright source is waved in front of a camera with a low exposure rate to capture the path of the light source.

Bedroom Rendering
Here is a rendering from a bedroom, in a scene of the 2011 remake of Footloose. (Sorry I didn't put anything on the posters, I wasn't sure how to import photos and use them as textures).

Introduction
Hi! I'm Jesse and this is my first entry on my very first blog...EVER.

What I'd like to get out of this course (Foundations of 3D Animation with Cinema 4D)? I guess, mostly just a better understanding of how Cinema 4D works, and understanding that knowing more about can help me in my future career. I've taken a course that briefly went over the basics, but my knowledge (and retention of that knowledge) is limited, so I definitely need a refresher.
I look forward to learning more in this course!
